What To Expect:
Depending on age and division you may be required to attend tryouts. After teams are formed, you will then be contacted by your Manager or Coach in late February. They will most likely hold a team meeting to get acquainted and pass out uniforms and or any other literature you may need. A Team Parent is an important part of the team. He or she will handle getting information on fundraisers, pictures, concession duty and the coordination of after game snacks , and possiblly cooridnating scorekeeper and umpire duties. Your Manger or Coach may ask for volunteers at the Team Meeting. From that point on The Manager and or Coach will update you on practice and games schedules. Game schedules will also be posted on the Glenwood Event Schedule on our website. You can also get league news and info via Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. Just click on the buttons on the left side of our Home Page directtly under the menu. You can also get ANNOUNCEMENTS directly via our Blogger site.
First Year Players: If this is your first time playing baseball/softball there are some items you may need to purchase for play. Every player will be issued a jersey/shirt and a hat. The jersey must be returned to your Manager at the end of the season. You will need: A glove. You may need a bat, batting helmet, cleats, baseball pants, socks and a jacket. Boys are required to wear an athletic protective cup. Please make sure you check with your Managers/Coaches as to what equipment you will need prior to purchase.
