Player Evaluation Process
We have a player evaluation process we ask our players to go through to help the coaches and managers in each of our divisions. The managers use this evaluation process to help them in the drafting of players for their team for the season. This is NOT a try-out! Every player will placed on a team. The draft process is to help in creating balanced and fair teams. If a player does not attend the player evaluation sessions, the player cannot be drafted to a team but instead will be randomly assigned to a team within the division after the draft is completed.
Who Needs to Attend?
Any player who will be playing in Minor’s or Major's Baseball Division, OR any child who is wishing to play up or down a division.
Move-up or Moving Down a Division
In rare occasions, a player can request to either move up or move down from their age assigned division. A player and parent can request to be evaluated for moving up or moving down a division. Parents need to complete a request form and have the player attend the Move-up/ Move Down Evaluation session as noted above. The League's Evaluation Board will evaluate the players and make a determination on the request. The Board's focus is for the player to be in the appropriate division based on their skill level. The Board will also evaluate to determine if there are safety concerns for the player moving to the requested division, or if there are safety concerns for the other players in the division if that player was in that division.
Note: Players changing a division may be at a disadvantage and in come cases may forfeit eligibility for selection to an All-Star Team.
TBall and PeeWee Divisions
Players playing in these divisions will be placed on teams based on ages, coach referrals, and parental requests (not all requests can be accommodated). You will NOT need to attend player evaluations if your player is playing in one of these divisions.
When and Where Are This Year's Evaluations?
Players only need to attend one of the sessions. During the evaluation sessions, players will be asked to run, throw, catch, and bat. Players should bring their glove, bat, helmet, and be dressed appropriately.
